Feed roll and cutterhead assembly

A forage harvester (10) includes front and rear sets of upper and lower feed rolls (130, 152 and 128, 60) that cooperate to convey a mat of crop material across a shear bar (50) with which a cutterhead (46) cooperates to cut the crop into short lengths. The front set of feed rolls (130, 152) and the upper feed roll (128) of the rear set (128, 60) are contained in a feed roll housing (64) that is pivotally mounted for horizontal movement on a fixed frame section (28) containing the cutterhead (46), shear bar (50) and lower feed roll (60) of the rear set (128, 60) of feed rolls, for movement between a normal working position and a service position permitting easy access to the shear bar (50).
