Zusammenfassung:1-(Acylaminoalkyl)-2-imidazolines substituted in the 2-position of the formula I …… in which R denotes an alkylene radical and R a fatty acid radical are prepared by reacting, for example, a fatty acid and a dialkylenetriamine in a molar ratio of (1.9 to 2.0) : 1 such that the dialkylenetriamine is initially introduced while hot under an inert gas atmosphere and the fatty acid is metered in while hot and the formation of the amidoamino group is then completed by heating to temperatures of 140 to 190 DEG C and cyclisation to give the compound of the formula I is then carried out at a reduced pressure of at least 50 mbar.
