New strain belonging to genus Thermus, new beta-galactosidase and process for producing same

A new highly thermophilic strain, a beta -galctosidase, which is suitable for the decomposition of lactose owing to its having excellent thermostability and low degree of inhibition by reaction products, obtained by culturing said strain and a process for producing said beta -galactosidase.
