Zusammenfassung:Microfissure defects in a shape melted austentitic material component (26) are eliminated or reduced by closely controlling the shape of the deposited weld bead (32) to a geometry in which the underbead shape has no sharp discontinuities. This is accomplished in that the welding torch head (24) employed is oscillated (36) during the process to smooth out the shape of the weld bead (32).
