Zusammenfassung:	A method for the continuous production of alkyl esters of pentenric acid by reacting butadiene-containing C4 sections with alkanols and carbon monoxide in the presence of cobalt carbonyl catalysts and heterocyclic aromatic tertiary nitrogen bases at a temperature of 100 to 160 DEG C and under a pressure of 100 to 1200 bar, characterised in that the reaction mixture is passed essentially without remixing through a treatment zone at the rate at which it is formed at a temperature of 100 to 160 DEG C under a pressure of 250 to 1200 bar and with a residence time of 10 to 60 minutes.
