Zusammenfassung: | Weak acid type cation exchange resins are prepared by subjecting to caustic hydrolysis a copolymer comprising in polymerized form (1) a major amount of a monoethylenically unsaturated monomer which is hydrolyzable under caustic conditions; (2) a minor amount of a monoethylenically unsaturated monomer which has a less hydrolyzable character than the hydrolyzable monomer, and (3) an effective amount of a crosslinking monomer. For example, copolymers prepared from methyl acrylate, butyl acrylate and divinylbenzene. The resin beads so prepared exhibit increased resistance to osmotic shock. |
