Zusammenfassung:Such printers feature a metallic print hammer bar (5) which is mounted in a damped manner in a print hammer bar support (4) of a printer frame (1) in such a way that air-borne noise and structure- borne noise are reduced. An improved damping of air-borne noise and structure-borne noise of the print hammer bar is achieved by arranging that the platen backing (2) in a cross-setion (9) running vertically to the longitudinal direction consists of a layered construction (10) where, between the metallic print hammer bar and a metallic print hammer bar underlay (6) which is connected via the print hammer bar support (4) with the printer frame (1) to form a large mass, there is at least one vibration-damping layer (11) and at least one frequency- decoupling insulating layer (12).
