Zusammenfassung: | The appts. includes a member (102) forming a nip with the belt (80). Simultaneously pressure is applied to the belt and a member (104) remote from the pressure applying member, for elevating the belt temp. Thus, toner images are simultaneously subjected to heat and pressure as a substrate passes through the nip. The temp. elevating member is in contact with the belt and pref. includes a rotatable, low mass tubular member (104) with an internally disposed source of energy (106). The pressure applying member pref. comprises a non-rotating mandrel to limit deflection of the belt. The belt pref. comprises an electro-formed nickel base having a conformable layer e.g. of silicon rubber on one side and a low friction coating e.g of PTFE on its other side contacting the mandrel (102). |
