Zusammenfassung:	The device consists of a restrainer (2) by means of which slaughter animals (8) can be conveyed in a single row, with a restriction on their movements, and of a stun device (10) with which the particular slaughter animal (8) held in the restrainer (2) is stunned. At the entrance to the restrainer (2) there is a mechanical, movable gate (18) which closes behind each slaughter animal (8) held by the restrainer (2) and opens again when this slaughter animal (8) has been moved on a distance.
