Zusammenfassung: | 1. A process for the surface treatment of a metal in a bath having a non-aqueous basis in a chamber unit which is not isolated from the surrounding atmosphere and has a heatable lower chamber section and a cooling zone located above it and provided with one or more condensate channels, wherein the condensate from the channel located next to the chamber surface is passed into a phase separation vessel and the aqueous phase which arises therein is passed into an overflow vessel, from which during the surface treatment such a quantity of aqueous phase is withdrawn as is reintroduced as the residual component to the treatment bath by means of a replenishing solution which contains the reactive components for the surface treatment and as the residual component the components of the aqueous phase in a composition of slightly lower water content. |
