Multi-part piston for internal combustion engines with closed cooling oil passage (3) arranged in a connection zone between piston head and piston lower part in the vicinity of the piston ring grooves, in which passage, for the thermal insulation of the ring grooves, partial zones (4) are separated by at least one ring insert (5), characterised in that this ring insert (5) is connected with an intermediate ring (7) so as to be removable without destruction, and the intermediate ring (7) is clamped in between the piston head (1) and the piston lower part (2), which are connected with one another.
