Zusammenfassung:An electrochemical cell (30) is heatable to an elevated temperature for operation. The cell comprises an electrolyte (31) and an integral cell electrode/heater (35) contacting a portion of the electrolyte (31) for heating at least that portion of the electrolyte to the elevated temperature. The electrolyte is preferably a solid at the elevated temperature, and the heater comprises an electrically conductive layer contacting at least a portion of the surface of the solid electrolyte.
