1. Alkylation catalyst which contains the oxides of iron, silicon and magnesium in an atomic ratio of Fe:Si:Mg of 100:0.1-10:0.1-15 and, possibly, also contains up to 5 % of its total weight of oxides and/or carbonates of alkali and/or alkaline earth metals.
