Zusammenfassung: | The method involves adjusting the mechanical position of a magnetic transducer while it is loosely held within a head carriage. Thereafter, the head is securely held within the carriage. The head carriage is positioned in an approx. alignment with a circular datum track of a disk on a drive. A controllable actuator loosely holds the transducer in an operative relation wrt the carriage. The actuator produces linear movement of the transducer radial to, and along, the datum track. The actuator also provides rotational movement of the transducer in its azimuth attitude relative to the datum track. The transducer reads the datum track and produces a signal which is used to control the actuator. The signal is also used to produce pitch and roll adjustment of the head. The method also includes a step of moving the transducer to produce a given penetration of the plane of the disk. |
