Zusammenfassung:	There is disclosed a process whereby the addition of finely particulate silica to aqueous media containing dissolved aluminum species is found to inhibit the transport of the aluminum species across dialysis membranes. The procedure is particularly advantageous in preventing aluminum from entering the blood stream from the dialysate solution during hemodialysis.
