METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE MAIN CABLE DRUMS OF A STERN TRAWLER
The invention relates to a device for fishing with split trawl winches or monoblock winches on stern trawlers (24). The embodiment using split trawl winches possesses winches (25,31), one on the starboard side and one on the port side, each having its own motor (26A,32A), its own gearing (27,33), a...

Zusammenfassung: | The invention relates to a device for fishing with split trawl winches or monoblock winches on stern trawlers (24). The embodiment using split trawl winches possesses winches (25,31), one on the starboard side and one on the port side, each having its own motor (26A,32A), its own gearing (27,33), a clutch (28A,34A), a main drum (28B,34B) and a band brake (28C,34C). The embodiment with a monoblock winch (39) possesses a common motor (26), a common gearing (27), but two clutches (28A,34A) and two main drums (28B,34B) with band brakes (28C,34C). During the paying-out of the trawl lines (29,35) connected to the trawl net (37), during automatic trawl operation and during hauling-in, the lengths of rope paid out are recorded in each case. Automatic trawl operation takes place within a range defined by predeterminable rope lengths. One drum (34B) acts as a leading drum and the other drum (28B) as a follower drum. The leading drum is braked via its adjustable band brake (34C). In the event of equal rope tension on both trawl lines, the follower drum is also braked via its band brake (28C). In the event of unequal rope tension, the motor (26,26A) of the follower drum is switched on and its clutch engaged, and it runs in order to bring about an equal rope tension in rightward or leftward running. If the predetermined limiting lengths are exceeded, signals are issued to bring about the adjustment or reduction of the ship's speed. As a result of the equal rope tension on both trawl lines, the trawl is kept open throughout the entire trawling operation, even when the ship is following a curved course. |
