| Zusammenfassung: | A gas separation apparatus for the enrichment of a gaseous mixture in one of its components, comprising two parallel columns of adsorbent beds and valving means for alternately flowing said mixture through one of said columns for enrichment through adsorption of the other components while the other column is being regenerated. According to the invention, each column (10 ; 12) comprises at least two serially connected adsorbent beds (14, 18 ; 22, 26) of decreasing superficial volumes, and may further comprise intermediate storage volumes (16, 20 ; 24, 28) for storing a portion of enriched effluent in view of enhancing subsequent regeneration of the associated adsorbent bed.
