Zusammenfassung:The control system synchronizes a spindle motor 12, which rotates a tap 3 for a tapping operation, with a Z-axis feed motor 26 which transports a table 1 mounting a workpiece 2 longitudinally of the tap 3. The spindle motor 12 and the Z-axis feed motor are driven at all times such that Ns - fm/P, where Ns (rpm) is the rotational speed of the tap 3 driven by the spindle motor, fm is the feed speed of the table 1 along the Z-axis, and P is the thread pitch of the tap 3. The Z-axis feed motor 26 is driven at a speed fm derived in dependence upon an output of an erithmetic circuit 23 which computes the product Ns.P, from a thread pitch P signal supplied from a numerical control unit 22 and a spindle speed signal Ns supplied from a tachogenerator 13 coupled to spindle mechanism 15.
