Zusammenfassung:	1. Process for the regulation and/or control of a biological clarification plant comprising an activation tank, into which effluent and activation slurry is continuously poured and from which the discharge liquid is drawn off and a separation means, which accepts said discharge liquid, separating the slurry from the discharge liquid and partially returns it to the activation tank, whereby a biological oxygen requirement value of a sample liquid containing the activation tank liquid is measured and is used as the basis for the regulation and/or control of the clarification plant, characterized in that to regulate the TS content in the activation tank, activation tank liquid is continuously drawn off from said activation tank to form the sample liquid, and that the sample liquid has excess oxygen added to it during a predetermined reaction time t and then the momentary biological oxygen requirement is continuously measured per time unit of the sample liquid, whereby the reaction time t is fixed in such a manner that the biological decomposition of the effluent in the sample liquid is substantially ended within said reaction time.
