Spun-like yarn with variable denier filaments and process for making such a yarn

A yarn having variable denier filaments with thick (38) and thin (34) regions is drawn at a draw ratio selected to break filaments in the thin regions (34). This may be done while false-twist texturing. The resulting broken ends protrude from the yarn, giving a spun-like yarn.
