Zusammenfassung:A flush-mounted fastening for sliding doors and windows has a fastening bolt which is operated by an integral push-button 19 which only projects from a face plate of a casing of the mechanism when the bolt is in its withdrawn, inoperative position. The push-button 19 is biased to its projecting position and there is another push button 35, 37 which causes a spring-loaded slider 23, which latches the push-button 19 in its fastening portion by engagement at 27, 29 to move to a release position so that the bolt 17 can spring back to its withdrawn position, shown.
