Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to the field of medical noninvasive diagnostics and can be used for endoscopic investigation of the gastrointestinal tract. A method for controlling the operating modes of an endoscopic capsule is characterized by prescribing a set of the operating modes of the endocapsule comprising a body with an optically transparent cupola, light-emitting diodes, optical system for imaging on the surface of a photosensitive sensor, microcontroller connected with the sensor, light-emitting diodes and nonvolatile memory, and a power supply; by recording an application program package, wherein each program corresponds to a prescribed operating mode of the endocapsule, in a read-only memory of the endocapsule controller with assigning a digital code to each of the programs; prescribing a set of sequences of light and/or light-color pulses from a light source of an endocapsule operating mode selection device comprising a controller, light source, photosensitive element, which are located in the body with an optically transparent window made so as to be capable of being interfaced with the transparent endocapsule cupola and provided with connection to a computer or USB interface; prescribing correspondence of a prescribed endocapsule operating mode and one sequence of light and/or light-color pulses from the light source of the endocapsule operating mode selection device; recording a program activating the prescribed sequence of light and/or light-color pulses in accordance with the selected operating mode of the endocapsule in the controller storage of the endocapsule operating mode selection device; superposing the transparent window in the body of the endocapsule operating mode selection device and the transparent cupola of the endocapsule body; giving a command to the controller of the endocapsule operating mode selection device to make the light source to form a sequence of light-color pulses in accordance with the selected operating mode of the endocapsule for transfer through the transparent screen of the body of the endocapsule operating mode selection device and the transparent cupola of the endocapsule body to the endocapsule photosensitive sensor; transforming a signal from the endocapsule photosensitive sensor to a digital code transferred to ROM of the endocapsule controller; starting an appropriate application program for the prescribed operating mode of the endocapsule in accordance with the received digital code; forming a response signa
