Zusammenfassung: | The invention relates to transport engineering, in particular to design of housing parts for thermostats of liquid cooling system of internal combustion engines (ICE). A thermostat body comprises two covers 1,2 connected therebetween and formed by cylindrical surfaces 3,4. The first cover 1 has a flange 5 for connection with a flange (not shown) of a collector of the ICE water cooling system and also has a branch pipe 6 for communication with an expansion tank (not shown). The second cover 2 has a branch pipe 7 for communication with a radiator (not shown). The first cover 1 flange 5 is arranged at an acute angle to its cylindrical surface 3 smoothly transforming into the first cover 1 branch pipe 6 via a conical surface 8. Wherein the second cover 2 is also formed by a spherical surface 9 smoothly transforming into the second cover 2 branch pipe 7 via its cylindrical surface 4. The invention has embodiments with the following features: A polymer material can be used for covers. Two short through holes 10 and two long through holes 11 are made in the first cover 1 flange 5 arranged in bosses 12 of the cylindrical surfaces 12. Four short through holes 10 are made in the first cover 1 flange 5 with slots for insert nuts. Both covers 1,2 have docking flanges forming arch-like end surfaces which, when covers 1,2 not tied contact by two short parts, and when tied by means of two bolt connections 17 - are in full touch. For that purpose the cover material is selected having elastic-deformable properties. Both covers can be screwed together or bayonet joined. Such covers can be locked either by comb-shaped gearing or by a pin or a finger. A bracket can be made on the side surface of the second cover 2 with a recess for entering a locking element through one of four short holes 10 of the first cover 1 flange 5.
