Zusammenfassung:	A catheter and package assembly (174), comprising: a catheter (110) having an elongated tubing (112) and a funnel attached to one end of the tubing (112); an elongated case (178) having a rim defining an open end, the rim being sized to permit entry of at least the catheter tubing (112); a hydration medium (176) in the case (178) where it is effective to lubricate the catheter tubing (112); and a cap (188) connected to the case (178) by a hinge and movable between closed and open positions, the cap (188) when in the open position permitting withdrawal of the catheter (110) from the case (178) and installation of the catheter (110) into the case (178), the cap (188) when in the closed position preventing withdrawal of the catheter (110) from the case (178) and preventing loss of the hydration medium (176) from the case (178).
