The electrolyte layer is arranged between a working electrode (3) and a counter electrode (5), where the electrolyte layer is comprised of a particulate material and a binder. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for manufacturing electrochemical sensor; and (2) a method for determining dissolved oxygen in aqueous medium.
