Zusammenfassung:	The machine component (8) is adjusted to a required position. The axial stop face (23) is fixed in position by the setting of a liquid (26). This preserves the position of the component, and/or its pre-loading. The stop face is displaced axially, to compensate measurement tolerances. It is pressed against the machine component by means of the axially-sliding piston (22) of a clamping unit (2). The liquid is pumped into a cavity (25) of the clamping unit, this cavity being sealed by the piston. An independent claim IS INCLUDED FOR the corresponding clamping device.
