Zusammenfassung:	Hydrophilic, soft contact lenses are disinfected by putting to soak in a non-eye-irritating aqueous disinfection solution which is obtained by adding a chlorohexidine salt, a sequestering agent for calcium and magnesium ions and a dechlorinating agent to mains water. The solution is suitably obtained by dissolving a tablet in mains water. The preferred sequestering agent is sodium tripolyphosphate, and the preferred dechlorinating agent is sodium thiosulphate. The chlorohexidine salt is advantageously provided in solid solution in urea in order to assist in complete dissolution.
