5-Aminosulphonylmethylindole derivative of the general formula I where R1, R4 and R5 are identical or different and are each hydrogen or C1-3-alkyl; R2 is hydrogen, C1-3-alkyl, C3-4-alkenyl or AR(C1- 2)alkyl; and R3 is hydrogen, Alk is an alkylene chain which contains 2 or 3 carbon atoms and can be unsubstituted or substituted by at most two C1-3-alkyl groups, and physiologically acceptable salts and solvates thereof. The prepared compounds are potentially useful for treating migraine and can be formulated as pharmaceutical preparations in a conventional manner. Different processes for preparing the compounds, including a Fischer indole cyclization process, are described.
