The invention further relates to an apparatus for dividing a stipe (13) of a seaweed into different portions, the apparatus comprising: a peeling means (3) for separating a radially outer portion (15) of the stipe (13) from a radially intermediate portion (17); a cutting means (19) for separating a radially inner portion (25) of the stipe (13) from a radially intermediate portion (17); and a guiding means (35) for guiding the stipe (13) appropriately onto the peeling means (3) and cutting means (19).
