Zusammenfassung:In a method of pressing flour or other vegetable material into briquettes or pellets and of the kind, in which the pressing equipment is supplied with steam from a steam source producing steam in a saturated state, the new feature consists in that the steam prior to being supplied to the pressing equipment is heated to form dry or superheated steam by using an electrical steam drier or superheater of the kind having between its inlet (1) and outlet (2) a heating chamber (3) provided with electrical heating elements (4, 5), through which heating chamber (3) the steam is conducted. In this manner, it is avoided that the pressing equipment is blocked or choked by "gooey" or sticky pressing material. The steam may be heated by means of an electrical steam drier and/or superheater with an inlet (1), a heating chamber (3) for saturated or wet steam and an outlet (2) for dried or superheated steam, in which the heating chamber (3) is elongated with the inlet (1) and the outlet (2) placed at the same end (7), from which a partition wall (8) extends to a location at a distance from the opposite end (10) of the heating chamber (3), whereas both the partition wall (8) and the electrical heating elements (4, 5) are secured to a removable cover (9), on its outside (in a housing 6) carrying the requisite electrical connecting means for the heating elements (4, 5). This makes it possible to clean and/or inspect the apparatus with a minimum of effort, as both the partition wall (8) and the heating element (4, 5) can be removed simultaneously by removing the removable cover (9). With the vertical orientation of the heating chamber (3) shown it is additionally achieved that the mechanical loading on the partition wall (8) and the heating elements (4, 5) is as little as possible, and that any water will collect below in the heating chamber (3), from where it is drained automatically through a steam trap (13).
