Zusammenfassung: | 1,191,111. Ladder joints. R. D. WERNER CO. Inc. 3 May, 1967 [9 Aug.; 1966], No. 20635/67. Heading A6L. [Also in Divisions B3 and F2] A ladder joint is formed using a one- or two-part ferrule with a peripheral flange at the inner end, and a further peripheral flange at the outer end, to grip bobh sides cf the stile, the outer flange either being formed by a vertical or horizontal press die (Figs. 1, 10, not shown) or constituting a preformed flange on the second part of a two-part ferrule (Figs. 20, 24, not shown). The inner flange may be formed in the ferrule before it is placed on the end of a hollow rung (Figs 1-9, not shown), or when it is on the end, before the rung/stile joint is formed (Figs. 11-14, not shown). A modification of the former type is shown in Fig. 15, and a further modification in Figs. 18, 19 (not shown), for use with a hollow stile. In the two-part ferrule (Figs. 20-24), the non flanged end 427 of the outer part is forced inwardly against a shoulder of the inner part, and is deflected in order to deform the rung and to grip it. |
