Zusammenfassung:Armoured plates for accumulators are mfd. by feeding an active mass into the porous sheath of a sheathed plate, when the sheath is positioned on the conductive element of the plate; in the form of an aq. sludge having a density, expressed as a turning amment value, when measured in a rotary vane viscosimeter, in the region of 0.83 to 8.3 m. g., at 20 degrees C. A pressure of 1.05 kg/cm2 is applied until the sheath is filled with the mass, and then the pressure is raised to a new limit of not >7 kg/cm2, before being detented. Gives fillings of uniform wt. and density throughout the plate.
