1309894 Connector boxes BUNKER RAMO CORP 29 Sept 1971 [16 Oct 1970] 45415/71 Heading H2E Lid 4 hinged at 26 to connector box 2 has a sealing member 6 secured to it in such a way that member 6 can tilt to some extent about its point of attachment and is thus self adjusting to seal uniformly the opening between lid 4 and box 2. As shown member 6 comprises rigid annular metal 8 disc joined to resilient disc 10 and is joined to the lid 4 by a screw passing into a convex portion 22 of the lid. Gap 24 thus left permits the tilting motion. The convex portion may alternatively be on the sealing member. Shoulder 14 at the periphery of resilient portion 10 aids sealing. In alternative embodiments an extension of the resilient portion may be glued into a hole in the lid, or the rigid portion may have a ball at its centre bearing against the lid.
