A marine conductor assembly comprises a conductor pipe 33 having a buoyancy tank or tanks 36 adapted to support the major part of the weight of the assembly, and an open ended sleeve or sleeves 37 extending through the tank or tanks. The sleeves form guides for choke and kill lines 39, 40. The lower end of the assembly is attached to a drilling wellhead on a casing-head by a connector according to Specification 1,060,020. The drilling wellhead comprises a ram type blowout preventer, a bag type blowout preventer and a flexible joint to which the lower part of the connector is attached. The lower ends of the lines have a stab-type connection with fittings leading to the interior of the wellhead. Guide cables attached to the wellhead run up the assembly to points of temporary connection adjacent the top of the assembly. The upper end of the assembly is telescopic and is supported from the vessel by constant tension hoists.
