Zusammenfassung: | 1,021,778. Conveyers. G. CLAAS. Jan. 6, 1965 [Jan. 28, 1964], No. 584/65. Heading B8A. [Also in Division A1] A rotary conveying drum, for loose crop such as straw, includes fingers pivotally extending from the surface 17 of the drum, means for pivoting the fingers during rotation of the drum comprising camfollowers 24 engaging a fixed cam-surface 28, and a length of rubber-like elastic material 36 which maintains the followers in contact with the cam-surface. In Fig. 1, the drum forms part of a header 11 for a combine-harvester and is associated with double-augers 18 to feed crop into a central shoot 16. The fingers are fixed to shafts 21 which extend axially through the drum and mount cranks 23 are one of their ends, the cranks carrying cam-followers 24 which all engage a cam-surface 28 formed inside a fixed bearing 26 secured to an end-wall 14 of the header. The followers 24 are rollers having pivots 35 which pass through the cranks 23 and terminate in further rollers 31, all the further rollers being encircled by an elastic band 36. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown), diametrically-opposed rollers are encircled by bands, the pairs of rollers in this construction being offset from other pairs along the shafts 21 to avoid contact between the bands. As shown, an outer cam-track 29 is provided, but this is not essential. |
