Zusammenfassung:Method and device for the indirect detection of the temperature or other, especially critical states of state-dependently gas-generating materials or material mixtures by means of gas-sensitive sensors, for example in order to prevent or detect smouldering fires in coaling plants, the temperature or the other states of the materials or material mixtures being determined by a comparison of gas-state and gas-generation samples, measured in at least two different sensor states and calculated from the measurements, with stored samples, and the comparison being carried out by means of time-variation similarities, especially after filtration of the output signals of the sensors, preferably low-pass filtration.
