This process is carried out either using microorganisms of the genus Pseudomonas, Bacillus, Alcaligenes or Rhodotorula or with biomass which utilises picolinic acid, which microorganisms or biomass grow with picolinic acid as the sole source of carbon, nitrogen and energy.
