A magnetic armature controlled servo valve, activated by its own medium, having a differential piston (2) which supports the valve plate (3) and on whose one side there is arranged a surge chamber (5) which is connected to the valve inlet (Z) and can be connected via the valve seat (4) to the valve outlet (A) and on whose other side there is arranged a control chamber (6) which is connected via a relief hole (2.1), arranged in the differential piston, to the valve outlet (A) and via a control hole (2.2) to the surge chamber (5). The relief hole (2.1) is closed by means of a magnetic armature seal (8.1), arranged on a magnetic armature (8), in the unenergised state of the magnetic coil (11), by the force of a first spring element (9) acting on the magnetic armature (8), and is opened in the energised state of the magnetic coil. The differential piston (2) is under the influence of the force of a second spring element (7) in the opening direction of the valve plate (3), the force effect of which spring element (7) is less than that of the first spring element (9). A roller diaphragm (7) which is connected to the differential piston (2), separates the surge chamber (5) from the control chamber (6) and is constructed such that the valve plate (3) is in the opened position when it is in its destressed quiescent position, is used as the second spring element. The valve hence opens reliably even in the case of a very low medium pressure.
