Zusammenfassung: | Halogenated aromatic compounds, particularly those used for electric insulation purposes are stabilized by the addition of dibutyl diphenyl tin. It is stated that this compound is effective to promote stabilization and yet does not cause decomposition. Halogenated aromatic compounds mentioned include chlorinated diphenyl, trichlorobenzene, chlorinated naphthalene, chlorinated diphenyl ketone, chlorinated diphenyl oxide, chlorinated diphenyl methane, chlorinated alkylated benzenes, ethyl tri-, tetra-, and pentachlor-benzenes, chlorinated terphenyls and chlorinated quaterphenyls. The stabilizer is incorporated by the simple addition at room temperature if the halogen is liquids or with the aid of solvents if it is a solid. The amount used is from 5-10 per cent by weight of the halogenated compound. Specification 594,655 is referred to. |
