Zusammenfassung: | The present invention reduces multimoding of light generated by lasers (21). An asymmetric dispersion enhancer (64a, 64b) is included in a laser cavity (23) to increase the asymmetric dispersion of the light amplified in the cavity (23). As a result, the side modes of the light passing though the cavity (23) are asymmetrically disposed about the fundamental mode and, therefore, are amplified less in the cavity (23). Consequently, multimoding of the light is better suppressed. |
