Zusammenfassung:A slot timing synchronization method in a code division multiple access mobile communication system, said slot timing synchronizing method comprising the steps of:transmitting from a base station a control signal via perch channels (106, 107),said perch channels being formed such that a long period code assigned to said base station and a first short period code spread a first section (102) of one slot of said perch channel and a predetermined short period code spreads a second section (131) of said one slot; andin a mobile terminal, despreading said second section of said one slot by using said predetermined short period code, andconducting slot timing synchronization by using a correlation value obtained as a result of despreading,characterized in thata spreading factor of said predetermined short period codeis set to a value lower than a spreading factor of said first short period code of said first section andis less than 256. The present invention relates to a cell search method for a code division multiple access mobile communication system, comprising: transmitting, from a base station, a control signal via perch channels (106, 107), said perch channels being formed such that a long period code assigned to said base station and a first short period code are mapped in a first section (102) of one slot of said perch channel; and transmitting, from said base station, a predetermined short period code mapped in a second section (131) of said one slot. Said predetermined short period code is provided for use by a mobile terminal for performing cell search by calculating a correlation value for said second section of said one slot. Said predetermined short period code is transmitted plural times within said second section of said one slot.
