A shock-absorbing section (13) is visible at the edge of the ski, intervening between the lower edge (9) of the top covering (6) and the lower assembly (2,3,4). The shock-absorber blocks vibrations propagating up from the edges of the ski in contact with the snow, to the feet of the user.
