Zusammenfassung:	A process for the preparation of poly(arylcarbonate)s, comprising reaction of dialkyl carbonates with bisphenols in the presence of selected distannoxane compounds in a first step to obtain an oligo(arylcarbonate). The oligomer is then polycondensed in a second step, either by itself or with diphenyl carbonate, using an organo-tin or -titanium catalyst. The process yields aromatic polycarbonates that are characteristically free of color and gel.
