Zusammenfassung:Prodn. of a circular metal part reinforced with fibres, the fibres being positioned close to a central space. First a circular blank (1) is machined with a circular 'U' shaped groove (5) opening towards the parts axis; fibres (21) with addition metal (22) are compressed in the groove by superplastic forging; weld the blank (1) from the mass of fibres and addition metal; machine the part. Alternative layers of concentric fibres and addition metal are introduced into the groove uncompressed. A deformable closure (5) is used to cover the groove. The fibres are compressed and the blank welded in a single operation in an autoclave at superplastic forging temp. of the addition metal under a pressure at least equal to the superplastic forging pressure of the layer.
