Zusammenfassung:An optical signal (Pin) emitted from a first optical fiber (11) is applied to a semiconductor laser (16) through a focusing lens (12) so as to propagate through an active layer (15) of the semiconductor laser (16). In the semiconductor laser, the optical signal (Pin) is multiplexed with the laser emission power to produce a multiplexed optical signal (Pm). The multiplexed optical signal (Pm) is then applied to a second optical fiber (19) doped with a rare earth element such as erbium to carry out pumping of the rare earth element of the second optical fiber (19), thereby amplifying the optical signal (Pin).
