The plating may be produced by co-rolling, explosion plating or explosion plating followed by re-rolling. Annealing may be performed at a temperature between 200 and 600 DEG C on the plated and quenched metal sheet. The quench is preferably carried out on an oil-quenching machine under a press. The armouring obtained includes a stainless covering layer free of carbide precipitates at the grain boundaries.
