Brake adapted in order to be connected to a brake cable (15), comprising a toothed sector (1, 2) fixed to the floor of the vehicle, a ratchet (4) adapted in order to interact with the toothed sector (2), and a manual grasping lever (6) equipped with a push button (18) associated with the ratchet; it comprises a housing case (5) mechanically securely fastened to the lever, comprising the toothed sector (1, 2) and the ratchet (4), articulated to the toothed sector and to the end of the brake cable (15). The case (5) is formed from two flanges (5a) between which there are arranged the toothed sector (1) and the ratchet (4), and which are fixed to the lever (6). The act of splitting the lever into a grasping lever (6) and a housing case (5), allows only the latter to be made from sheet metal in order to allow it to take up the forces, whereas the lever (6) may be made from moulded plastic with various shapes according to the aesthetic appearance desired. This arrangement reduces the weight and the cost price of the brake, and allows automatic assembly of its constituent parts, except the plastic lever (6). ……
