Zusammenfassung:	Method for manufacturing an O-ring comprising manufacturing a strand (2) of unvulcanized elastomer material, separating a piece of determined length from the strand, placing the piece (4) with the ends (6) abutting into an annular mould cavity of a vulcanizing mould (18) and vulcanizing thereof to a closed O-ring. The strand is manufactured with a notch (3) in lengthwise direction so that when the ends of the strand piece are laid against one another an annular channel is formed by the notch. In the annular channel are arranged a number of windings (9) of a filament-like reinforcing material and the strand piece provided with the windings of reinforcing material and curved into a ring are compressed in the mould, wherein the notch is substantially pressed closed and vulcanized to a closed O-ring (11).
