Zusammenfassung:	A fish protection system comprises a plurality of guard plates (1, 1 min , 11, 21) and support means (2 and 3, 2 min and 3 min , 12 and 13, 26, 32 and 33) for supporting the guard plates on the surround of a fish pond so as to position the guard plates around the perimeter of the pond at or slightly above the water level. The support means (2 and 3, 2 min and 3 min , 12 and 13, 26, 32 and 33) is such that any given guard plate (1, 1 min , 11, 21) will tilt downwardly if subjected to a downwards force of a predetermined magnitude.
