The device has a float with a rod (30) having a mobile contact part (31) contacting with fixed contact parts (4, 4`) spaced at a preset distance (D). The part (31) has ends (33, 33`) spaced at a distance greater than the distance (D). The ends move closer to the rod when the part (31) is pushed between the fixed parts so that the distance between the ends is lower than the distance (D). The fixed parts are confined in a reservoir wall. The contact parts (4, 4`) are confined in the wall of the reservoir such that ends of the parts (4, 4`) are placed outside and inside the reservoir, respectively. An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing an electrical contact device.
